Welcome to the Balranald Shire Council
Balranald Shire is situated in the South West of New South Wales. Its main business centre Balranald is located on the Murrumbidgee River. the second business centre of Euston is 80km to the west and located on the banks of the Murray River
The population of Balranald Shire is approximately 3000 with about half of those people living in the town of Balranald and approximately 600 people live in the Town of Euston. Other localities in the Shire include, Kyalite, Hatfield, Penarie, Clare and Oxley.
Balranald Shire covers an area of 21,418 square kilometes. The area is generally flat with only slight undulations. Ground level is about 60m above sea. The soil is mostly clay overlaid with a coarse red sandy loam, although areas of heavy black soil do exist.

Candidate seminar – Saturday 28 June in Deniliquin
The NSW Electoral Commission is holding a Candidate Seminar on Saturday 28 June at the Council Chambers, Civic Centre, Civic Place, Deniliquin from 10.30am – 12.00pm. Pre-registration is not required.
